Hello friends, enemies, and the awfully curious. Welcome to Crafturbation, a sexy new twist on everyday crafting. I am personally just sick of hyper-active stay-at-home moms posting their oh-so-perfect crafting crap.

So if you're ready for some fun, easy ideas (and a whole lot of attitude to go with it), then this is the place for you. Enjoy!

Light Switch Cover Tutorial

YAY! Here are some delicious directions to making personalized (and cute!) light switch plate covers.

1. Buy some cheap light switch covers. (I get mine at Re-Store for 10¢ a piece!)

2. Collect cute paper scraps, magazine clippings, etc.

3. Glue them (I use rubber cement) to the top of the switch cover. Leave the corners and sides unglued for now. Let dry.

4. Using an extra-sharp exacto knife (sharpness=better results!) cut out the switch box and screw holes.

5. Now it's time to glue the sides. This is the longest part of the process and requires patience! Using a paintbrush, paint a thin layer of Mod Podge (find at JoAnn's, Roberts, etc.) on one side of the switch cover. Press and hold for about 60 seconds until it will hold itself. It helps to fold down the side of the paper.

7. Let dry 1-2 hrs.

*. If you are making more than one, repeat steps #1-7 to all switch covers before moving on.

8. Once that side is completely dry, use the same process in #6 to the opposite side. Again, let dry 1-2 hrs.

9. You now have two sides (top and bottom) that still need gluing. Glue the top (see step #5) and let dry...then the bottom. (By now, you've realized that the glue takes about 1-2 hours to dry completely.)

10. Using an exacto knife, turn the plate face-down (paper side down) and trim the sides. There will be some extra paper on the corners, we'll deal with them later.

11. Now for the corners, use scissors to trim at an angle so no bare plate is exposed.

12. All the hard part is over!

13. Using a paintbrush and some more magical Mod Podge, paint a thin layer of Mod Podge all over the paper side of the switch cover. Let dry 1-2 hours.

14. Once that first layer is dry, paint on one more to seal the deal. (This is where I let everything dry overnight).

15. When you wake up, you have some GORGEOUS switch covers to put all around your house!!

Upcycled Mirror

I've had this hideously drab mirror up in my kitchen for who knows how long. But cute mirrors are always pricey, and when you won't spend more than $20 on anything, they're pretty much impossible to find.
So instead, I bought some adorable scrapbook paper and a bottle of Mod Podge and went to work.

This project took longer than I thought because of all the folds & drying time...but it was worth it!

DIY: Upcycled Skinny Jeans

Hi friends! Cute Susan from Freshly Picked inspired me with her easy Skinny Jeans Tutorial.
I tried it out for myself and it was SO EASY! (~and cute~)
Before:
A lame-o pair of jeans from DI.

After:
Some hot hot skinnies.

DI Table turned F*A*B*

I wish I had a picture of this table when I bought it, but it was an eyesore. But with the help of some dowel rods for support, a fresh coat of paint and some glorious Mod Podge and scrapbook paper, this is the finished project:

I put it in Lily's room for her new Dora house...and she loves it!

Blah --> Muah! Cute Notebook Tutorial

I spent 5 minutes converting this DI notebook (who the hell likes kitty-themes nowadays!?!) into one I love!
1. Buy cheap & hideous notebook.

2. Using Mod Podge, first glue your paper of choice on the inside cover.
3. Then using another paper, use Mod Podge to cover the front. Fold edges over so you have a smooth front. Glue the folded edges to the inside cover.

4. Have fun gluing anything you want to the front...

And viola! A cute notebook is now yours to enjoy!

Fabric - Before & After

Home Fabrics is a store I ADORE...It is definitely worth checking out if you live near Orem. I know there's also an SLC store.
Anyways, thanks to their awesomely cheap fabric, I got to re-do my family room for about $20!
In this photo, the left throw pillow is the old and the right pillow is the NEW! The lively colors really brighten up the room!

And pillow covers are SO easy to make - about 5 minutes each! Check out this tutorial.
Next I wanted to update our "wall art." Here is before:

And here is after:

I really love the fabric in these frames, but they seem a little drab like something is missing. What can I add?! I would love your advice!

Humility: It's What's for Dinner.

Thanks to my gal Dari, I had 312 people walk up to me today and say, "My GOSH-you're gorgeous." To their surprise I replied, "Don't tell me...I already know."

This Month's Big Project

My Sis-In-Law Brenna asked me to do a painting for her new house. I was so glad I did it - it took much longer than I ever anticipated, but I've never done anything like it and it sure boosted my artsy-confidence!
Here are some photos of the process:

This is what she wanted it modeled after:

And here's the final result:

Crafting our Butts Off

We spent a few hours up at Sundance making zipper flower headbands for all the girls! It was so fun and is so super easy. Thank you, Martha Stewart! Find her tutorial here.
