Got The Hots For...

Those of you who know me well know that I LOVE Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Weird? Probably. But I just made a notebook perfect for my little fetish.

Denim Madness

Today I was bored [shock] so I fixed some of my jeans I don't wear. I hate it when I rip holes in the knees (which is easy when you have a toddler!) so I sewed patches and I'm so excited!

UGLY SHIRTS!!

Here is a presentation of all my shirts that people have told me are ugly:

Presented with no bra and double chins, for your viewing pleasure.

MART (my art)

I would never claim to be talented, but I do enjoy getting my ART out every once in a while. I'm currently working on some pretty interesting wire designs. Here's some mart:

Go Me!

After all, Blogs are all about self-celebration, right?! Anyways, I successfully sewed a car seat cover for Lily. Now she will be riding around in style!!

Sew What!?

Okay, Okay...here comes a big brag. I have loved wearing SKIRTS this summer, and my favorite part about it is that they're all either handmade or from D.I.!! Here are some of the ones I created:

PS: Old tablecloths & curtains make the best skirts!!

$9.50 Bedroom Makeover!!

1. 5 frames from D.I. ($2.50)
2. Pink Paint and Gloss ($2.00)

I love making CHEAP and CUTE artsy projects that can go in my home. There is just something great about looking at something that you put the time in to make. This weekend, we made some great Dora photos & frames to put in Lily's room.
3. Painting with Lily ($Messy)*

*Actually, because I'm a genius, I discovered that giving Lily a brush to dip in water and drag across construction paper gives her the illusion that she's actually painting! And it's mess-free!
4. Images from a Dora Calendar ($2.00)
5. Final result: A cute Dora-themed coloring corner in Lily's room! She loves it!

And speaking of how AMAZINGLY AWESOME I AM...I added the following hand-made goodness to Lily's room this weekend as well:
~A cute ruffly bedskirt (made from scraps purchased at D.I.)($2.00):

~Sticky flower decals around her shelf (Thank you, Dollar Store!) ($1.00):

A:"That Rachel, she's so talented AND modest! What an example she is to us all."
B:"Have you ever talked to her in real life? Because she is actually a bit of a neurotic psychopath. But whatever, that's cool."

Ali Has the Cutest House!

I loved Ali's little 2-bedroom house she shares with Pancake (her little dog) in the middle of the spooky forests of Florida. Her house is so cute and the decorations are awesome.

~cheap trick~

Lily.Loves.Dora.

Duh.

So instead of spending $5.49 on a Dora-themed box of wipes, I spent $1.88 at WalMart to make my own!

Lily said, "Don't be sad, Dora. I use your wipes on my bum."

Upcycled Leg Warmers!

Today I made Lily about 10 pairs of legwarmers! They are so easy...and totally free...so let me share!
1. I used some of Lily's old shirts (she just graduated to 3T!) and cut off the sleeves:

2. Then I sewed an elastic band around the top:

3. And VOILA! Leg warmers! Lily was such a good sport to sit for these pictures.

I think they're so cute and could totally work for either girls or boys.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to make some of these for myself! :)
