One Last Craft...
...before Christmas! I almost started Christmas without any mistletoe! So I whipped up this little number - and let's just say we might be enjoying it a little TOO much.

On Friday, I spent the day:
~barfing
~sleeping
~driving to SLC
~pounding my head against the wall
SO...I decided to end the night with a craft. Aaahhh, that helped me feel better.

Thankful Banner Tutorial
I know Thanksgiving is this week, but I quickly made this banner to hang because I had no decorations up!
You can use these instructions to make banners that say anything: Merci, Thanks, Happy Birthday, etc!
It's super easy! Here's how I did it:
1. I printed out letters to cut and trace.
2. Cut out 2 pieces of fabric big enough for the letter to fit. (I made mine out of t-shirt scraps)
3. Put a piece of cotton batting in between the fabric, and pin the letter to all 3 layers.
4. Do this for all letters.
5. Using the paper letter as a stencil, sew around the edges (through all 3 layers).
Here is what it will look like:
6. Cut out all letters, leaving enough space from the seams.
7. I then fit the individual letters to some background fabric.
8. Sew (or hot glue) the letters onto the background fabric.
Here's what they will look like:
9. Now hang on a string and ENJOY!

Sew Darn Proud of Myself!
Okay, let me brag for just a minute. This is my blog after all, isn't it?! I sewed these cute stockings...and I can't wait to put them up!

DIY: $1 Ornaments
I bought a roll of 15 gold and silver ornaments for $1 at the Dollar Store, and turned them into paper mache-type cute ones! Follow these steps and you can make your own!
1. Find cute (and colorful!) pages from a magazine.
2. Crumple into balls to give the paper some texture.
3. Cover one ornament at a time with Mod Podge. Rip the selected paper into strips and use more Mod Podge as you go.
4. After all ornaments are covered, give them one more good layer of the glorious Mod Podge.
5. I ended with a coat of clear varnish to give them a glossy finish.
6. Find some perfect ribbon for bows...
7. And Viola! Cute Christmas ornaments to use as you choose. I'll be handing mine out with some of our Christmas cards.
